Former Schaumburg police officer Terrance O’Brien, 46, is scheduled to appear in court today where prosecutors are expected to ask to restore his original $750,000 bond. O’Brien is one of three officers facing charges that allege shaking down drug dealers and selling stolen drugs. A second lawsuit has been filed against the officers. Full story.

Two Lake County high schools mourned the loss of a student yesterday after a single-vehicle accident took the lives of two teens. Antioch High School student Joel Wittkamp, 16, and his passenger Lakes High School student Ashley Seay, 17, of Lindenhurst, died after their vehicle struck a tree in Antioch Township Monday night. Barrington Unit District 220 board members agreed 5-1 last night to approve a new three-year deal with its teachers. The agreement gives its more than 700 teachers an average 3.3 percent pay increase annually. Full story.
