"I recognize these delays were frustrating, and I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced," he said. According to the statement, an inbound train was delayed for about 75 minutes Friday morning due to a door malfunction in Naperville.

On Monday evening, 13 BNSF trains were delayed eight to 56 minutes due to a power failure at the Downers Grove Fairview station.

Then, on Tuesday evening, 16 trains were delayed, most between 15 to 30 minutes, due to a signal problem at Chicago Union Station.
