Weakened marriage hurts women most

What a tragedy that the Illinois Senate has voted to legalize gay marriage. I hear many say that people should have the right to marry whomever they want. This debate is not about people's rights. It is about denigrating the sacred institution of marriage and its primary purpose of procreation.
Marriage should be elevated in importance and not dumbed down. Gay marriage is an oxymoron. One more thing: Who is hurt the most by weakening the institution of marriage? Women! Women bear our children and too often end up raising them without a dad present. They need marriage to be strengthened to help them cope with their plight, not weakened.
