"To Master the Art," William Brown and Doug Frew's play chronicling the love story and professional accomplishment of master chef Julia Child and her husband, Paul, comes to the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place in September, Broadway in Chicago announced Monday.
TimeLine Theatre, named one of the nation's top ten emerging theaters by the American Theatre Wing (of Tony Award fame), commissioned the play which premiered in 2010 under Brown's direction.
The Chicago Commercial Collective, established last year to remount and extend hit shows produced by not-for-profit theaters, will partner with TimeLine to produce the remount which features original stars Karen Janes Woditsch and Craig Spidle reprising their roles as Julia and Paul Child.
The collective aims to "provide more opportunities for Chicago artists to do what they do best," said Chicago Commercial Collective producer Brian Loevner in a prepared statement. "'To Master the Art' is a perfect example of why the collective was formed, and TimeLine Theatre is a great partner in our first production at Broadway Playhouse."
The show will be part of BIC's fall season. Group sales for 10 are more are available by phone (312) 977-1710. Individual tickets go on sale at a later date. Visit broadwayinchicago.com for more information.Copyright © 2014 Paddock Publications, Inc. All rights reserved.
