No one was injured late Monday when fire broke out in a single-family Palatine home, according to a Palatine Fire Department news release.
Fire crews responded to the blaze at 10:22 p.m. on the 100 block of Rohlwing Road within five minutes of the call and saw smoke coming from a second-floor bedroom, the release states. All five residents and a dog escaped by the time crews arrived. Firefighters searched the house and removed a second dog.
The house was deemed untenable due to significant damage to the second-floor bedrooms, the release stated. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no damage estimates are yet available. Firefighters from Long Grove and Rolling Meadows assisted.
