Forecast: Rain in the afternoon turns to snow late tonight

Temperatures today will be a little warmer than average, reaching a high of 49 degrees, but don't get comfortable.

There's a 90 percent chance of rain this afternoon, starting after 2 p.m., and the forecast calls for rain to turn to snow late tonight as the temperature drops. The low tonight should be around 18 degrees.

The National Weather Service is forecasting scattered flurries after midnight.

Up to an inch of snow has been forecast before Tuesday morning, when it likely will stop.

Tuesday's high is expected to only hit 21 degrees with similarly cold temperatures Wednesday.
