Zengeler Cleaners awarded top honor for winter coat work

By

Medal of Honor recipient Allen Lynch, representing the Veterans Assistance Commission of Lake County, recently made a special presentation to Zengeler Cleaners at the regular weekly meeting of the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club at Lambs Farm.

Accepting the Seven Seals Award were owner Bob Zengeler, his son and company President Tom Zengeler and Tom's son Andrew.

The Seven Seals Award given by the Department of Defense is the highest award given to civilians and was created to publicly recognize Americans who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to those that have been called to serve in the armed forces.

The Seven Seals Award represents official gratitude from the seven military reserve components: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard reserves, along with the Army and Air National Guard.

The need for warm clothing among veterans of all ages and their family members is great, and over the past six years, partnering with customers, companies and the public, Zengeler Cleaners has collected, cleaned/laundered and delivered thousands of winter coats to veterans.

The Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club always is accepting new members and welcomes individuals at the breakfast meetings to experience the club. The club meets Wednesdays at 7 a.m. at Lambs Farm. Guests and prospective members are welcome. For information call Bob Zamor, club president, at (847) 367-0511, or visit www.libertyvillesunriserotary.com.

The Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club is a local chapter of Rotary International, an international humanitarian service organization founded in 1905 by Paul Harris in Chicago. Rotary members are business and professional leaders who volunteer their time and resources to help others locally and throughout the world. There are more than 1.2 million members in more than 31,000 clubs in 166 countries.
