The 10th annual ADAMS (Automatic Defibrillators Allow More Survival) Night celebration, is set for Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Doubletree by Hilton, 510 East Route 83, Mundelein. Tickets are $50 per person. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with a mimosa bar for the first hour followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. New this year are the ADAMSWAY Awards honoring those who have responded to “Saving a Life”. The event honors Adam Kausak, who died in 2002 at age 15 of cardiac arrest from a genetic heart disorder called Long QT Syndrome, which affects the electrical activity of the heart. A person with the disorder is at risk of loss of consciousness, cardiac arrest, and sudden death. ADAMS Night is a fundraiser from which proceeds are used to buy and place automatic external defibrillators at community facilities. Visit www.adamsway.org or call (847) 548-7519.
