Questions & Answers

Name the three most important goals or objectives this board should tackle in the coming term. Prioritize them, and briefly discuss why you believe each to be critical, and how the board should go about addressing them.

With the help of the citizens of Blackberry Township, we need to try to pass a referendum in the spring of 2013 to keep up with the blacktopping of our current roads. We are currently resurfaceing a little over 1 mile of road every year when we should be doing about 5 miles

In the 21st Century, with municipalities gobbling up vacant land, why are townships needed? Should they be serving a new role? If so, what?

I believe Township Government is still very important. Municipalities are not gobbling up land in our area. I believe that Blackberry Township tries to do the best we can with the resources we have.

What should be the primary responsibility of township government?

I think the primary source of Township Government is to give the people of unincorporated areas of the County a voice on what they would like to see happen

In these hard economic times, can you identify some township expenses/programs that could be trimmed or eliminated to reduce the tax burden?

Most Township Governments already run on a pretty tight budjet with alot of part-time employees and seasonal workers. I would look at my expenses to see if there are ways to save money

What specific background or experience do you bring that makes you the best qualified candidate to serve as an elected official in the township?
