Should they be serving a new role? If so, what?If road miles have shrunk, budgets need to be adjusted accordingly, however the need for financial aid continues to increase because of population and state funding gaps.Townships ,the government closest to the people is still the best.What should be the primary responsibility of township government?Townships are Mandated to these functions; general assistance for the indigent assessment of real property maintainence of roads and bridgesIn these hard economic times, can you identify some township expenses/programs that could be trimmed or eliminated to reduce the tax burden?Reduce levy taxation,reduce high overhead,review compensation packages to find cost savings; to cut other services in Elgin Twp. would impact those residents in need of services.What specific background or experience do you bring that makes you the best qualified candidate to serve as an elected official in the township?I am an Independent thinker,a fiscal conservative,and believe in only taking what you need in taxation. I am a creator of projects, programs,and initiatives which have proven sucessful and still in place today that cover various age populations of Elgin Twp.I would be honored to be re-elected to the Board.
