Continue to keep taxes low for the residents. Make budget cuts in each department to be as lean as we can without services being affected.
Develop a better Senior lunch program. We are looking at bringing this service in house to provide better quality food and beverages. We need to conduct a study to see how we can accomplish this goal. We have all the equipment available to provide this valuable service.
Expand on our Green Energy initiatives. We have many guidelines in place to reduce energy costs. Cost saving lighting, sensors and energy efficient supplies have been implemented. We are also looking to install solar panels at our Senior Center.
To develop the newly acquired Izaak Walton property. This is a 12 acre parcel that we are going to provide senior and young adult programs. We would like to put a bike path in as well to connect with Lord's Park. This property at $1 per year will provide valuable programs to our residents.
We are needed because of our unique services. We have expanded many of our services. Emergency Services has really developed of the past 4 yrs with 25 volunteers. We provide traffic control, lighting, search and rescue as well as lighting equipment.
To continue to provide our residents the best service available to them at a low cost.
Hanover Township has not raised its levy for two consecutive years. With that said it is important to always be open to look at programs and staffing, to insure that they are needed by township residents. I support a zero based budget strategy that require each program dollar to be justified each budget cycle as opposed to seeing an automatic increase. I would also support the cross training of administrative service staff so that more service could be delivered by fewer staff. I do know and I support the effort the current officials have made to consolidate positions, consistently review vendor cost and keep elected officials pay in check.
My experience has been 4 yrs on U46 Citizen Advisory Committee, 5 yrs as a Streamwood Park Commissioner including 1yr as Vice President and 1 yr as President. The past 4 yrs as trustee for Hanover Township.
