municipalities are gobbling, or anexing up vacant land that they can not afford to maintain. and some municipalities have turned to township highway depts to maintain their roadways

What should be the primary responsibility of township government?

to maintain the services it provides, and to maintain a balanced budget

In these hard economic times, can you identify some township expenses/programs that could be trimmed or eliminated to reduce the tax burden?

in the highway dept, we have added programs while running a balanced budget

4 years in usaf 4 yrs Illinois national gaurd 2 winters at I.D.O.T. 28 yrs as owner operator in trucking and excavating 7.5 yrs as wauconda township highway commissioner
