I am running for Park Commissioner to get involved in my community, be involved with my children and provide leadership to continue the vision of the park district which is "Go Beyond the Expected". I look forward to the many wonderful opportunities that are ahead. I will work with all to continue the strong tradition of excellence. I will be a voice of support and opposition of matters that affect the community as a whole. How and why?When I am elected Commissioner of the Elk Grove Park Board, I will work hard with the staff to review all programs and activities from top to bottom to ensure that taxpayer money is not being wasted and that the programs are meeting the needs of all residents.Is there any additional open space the park district needs to acquire? Please describe.Elk Grove Village is a land locked community. I would be very interested to discuss open land space with the Cook County Forest Preserves with land that boundaries the Village of Elk Grove.Are there any unmet recreational needs? If yes, what are they and how would you propose paying for them? Or, should they wait until the economy improves?The Elk Grove Park District has an outstanding administrative team that works hard to provide the best possible recreational/leisure activities for the residents. As a Park Board Commissioner I will provide support to ALL employees so that we can continue the strong tradition of programming excellence.Would you support sharing/pooling resources (i.e. printing, vehicles) with other local governments (school districts, village, etc.)? If so, what areas would you consider combining or merging to save money or improve efficiency?I believe in being a good neighbor and supporting other local government agencies. I feel that inter-governmental agreements are beneficial to meet the demands of the community and provide fiscal responsibility to the residents. Anytime facilities, land and programs can be shared, is a win-win situation for both government agencies and the residents of the communities we serve.If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? I am very excited to be running for the Elk Grove Park District Board of Commissioners. Elk Grove Park District is an exceptional park district in an exceptional community. The facilities are the state of the art, the programing is outstanding with activities for young children through adulthood and most importantly the park district is fiscally responsible. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the Park District and the residents of Elk Grove Village for the next 6 years.
