Candidate's Key Issues

Key Issue 1

I believe the baseball and soccer fields need upgrades

Key Issue 2

Propose the idea of an outdoor pool for the south side of Mt Prospect

Key Issue 3

If the golf course is improved it does not increase taxes or current park district fees. I strongly feel we need to assess where current monies are being used.

Questions & Answers

What programs aren't paying for themselves? Would you keep, eliminate or change them? How and why?

The equipment at park district- needs upgrades The reason I feel this is important is if we could compete with other gyms we could generate more revenue Also the land on Higgins road that is leased can eventually be used to expand the sports fields for our children We also need to promote more outside activities for the health of our children

Is there any additional open space the park district needs to acquire? Please describe.

Candidate did not respond.

Are there any unmet recreational needs? If yes, what are they and how would you propose paying for them? Or, should they wait until the economy improves?

We have to take a serious look at improving the wave pool as it is not children or senior friendly, ie more shaded areas needed, this would not raise taxes but rather a bond issue

Would you support sharing/pooling resources (i.e. printing, vehicles) with other local governments (school districts, village, etc.)? If so, what areas would you consider combining or merging to save money or improve efficiency?

I would like to see us build a safe, fenced in, dog park with the City of Arlington Heights if possible at Melas Park I would also like to see us do a driving range at Melas Park to generate income

If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? If you're an incumbent, list your accomplishments or key initiatives in which you played a leadership role.

Based on current projections for the golf course and the need to improve our sports facilities for our children I would also like to make our community more bike friendly Thanks for your time
