In a sea of trouble, an oasis of hope

As the economy has worsened, I and others have found it difficult and sometimes impossible to continue to put food on the table -- let alone "healthy options" that would keep us from the vicious cycle of ill health, doctor and hospital bills, prescription refills etc. -- often forcing us into rotating priorities each month to survive.

We feel blessed to be able to go to The Schaumburg Barn every other week to pick from stocked shelves of groceries that fit into our healthy diet regime; to be able to have the option daily or weekly to share a healthy inexpensive meal and fellowship with other residents in the area.

We could not do this without their help. We applaud their service and we send them our heartfelt gratitude and thanks.

Special thanks to all their kind volunteers with their warm smiles and generous heart who reach out to help each person coming through their doors ... and especially my mother now in her 86th year.

Everyone likes to feel special, and the volunteers at the Barn are exceptional! May God bless each of you abundantly!
