This is a follow-up to a Feb. 26 Fence Post regarding "Illegal Immigrants should not drive." I agree with Ernie Lasse; shame on our legislators. To Gov. Quinn and all government officials: Seems our government has two versions of "illegal."
Version 1: If you are driving drunk, that is "illegal," punishable by loss of rights such as driving and possible incarceration. If you rob a bank, it is "illegal," punishable by jail or prison. If you shoot someone without probable cause, i.e. self-defense, police, etc., it is "illegal," punishable by prison or death. If you make threats against the president, it is "illegal," punishable by prosecution or imprisonment.
Version 2: If you are an "illegal" immigrant you can get a driver's license in Illinois. If you are an "illegal" immigrant you can get free medical treatment and food stamps. If you are an "illegal" immigrant in Illinois you can take away a job for a "legal" resident. I am not against immigration, I an against illegal immigration.
Should we give bank robbers keys to the banks? Should we give free bottles of alcohol to convicted drunk drivers? This is only going to get worse. Wake up, America.
