Denzel Washington takes 'Flight' to DVD

“Flight” — The suspenseful film is like a roller coaster that will have your emotions going up and down. Whip Whitaker (Denzel Washington in one of his best performances in many years) has made mistakes, and his wife divorced him. His teenage son wants nothing to do with him.

He has many addictions. His girlfriend is a fellow addict and his best friend (John Goodman) is a drug dealer. Whip drinks and takes drugs, and he always feels in control.

He also is a captain of a commercial jetliner. On a routine mission from Florida to Atlanta, his plane encounters stormy weather, develops mechanical trouble and goes into an uncontrollable dive.

This is a tension-filled scene as the experienced pilot lands the jet as best he can. He knows that he was under-the-influence of drugs and alcohol, and an investigation will ruin him forever.

The film plays with our emotions, as we witness his life connecting to many others.

It is a powerful film that will touch you on many levels and will stay with you for a long time.
