A Hoffman Estates man has been charged with breaking into a neighbor’s home and sexaully assaulting her.
Police said that around 1 a.m. Wednesday, 19-year-old Stephen Delgado, of the 600 block of Bode Circle, broke into a home in Hoffman Estates awakening and assaulting a woman who lived there.
“Evidence at the scene,” police said in a news release, “led investigators to the suspect who was taken into custody” around 6 p.m. Friday.
Sgt. Darin Felgenhauer declined to elaborate further, noting police “can’t release much based on the fact it’s still a matter of investigation.”
Delgado was charged with home invasion and criminal sexual assault.
He will appear in Cook County Bond Court Monday.
