I’m wondering if the large number of printed names on Mr. Augustyn’s election petition for the Buffalo Grove Park District is due to cursive writing being jettisoned in our public schools. These young citizens do not know how to sign their own names! What an embarrassment. It is not their fault.
It is not too late to learn cursive writing and to develop their own personal signatures. It’s part of self-expression! There are tutorial videos on YouTube, as well as workbooks that can be bought at Jo-Ann’s and dollar stores. I’ll be glad to teach anyone who wants to learn and I’ll do it for free.
Best wishes to Mr. Augustyn on his initiative. I congratulate him and his peers for their interest in the political process. If he doesn’t make it this time, he surely will later.
