Longtime Hoffman Estates resident and active community member John Kmetz died Jan. 8. Friend and family will celebrate his life at 3 p.m. Saturday at VFW Post 5151 at 520 S. Bartlett Road in Streamwood. “Dad loved laughter,” his daughter said. “He had a smile for everyone and he never met a stranger.”
