Winthrop Harbor man faces child porn charges

By Russell Lissau

A Winthrop Harbor man faces child pornography charges following an arrest this week, the Illinois attorney general’s office announced Thursday.

David Wayne McMurray, 52, of the 1600 block of Third Street, was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography. He is held in the Lake County jail on $100,000 bond.

McMurray was arrested Wednesday as part of the attorney general’s “Operation Glass House,” a statewide crackdown on people suspected of downloading and trading child pornography online.

The office worked with the Winthrop Harbor Police Department and the Lake County state’s attorney’s office, which will prosecute the case.
