Fundraiser Saturday in Barrington benefits 8-year-old girl

A benefit to aid the fight against a rare disease afflicting an 8-year-old Barrington-area girl will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at McGonigal's Pub, 105 S. Cook St., Barrington.

"Rock The Reel" is a medical benefit and film screening also featuring live music by Tanglewood Tales & Between the Lines.

Tracy VanHoutan, founder of Noah's Hope, will be the master of ceremonies, and The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation film "Here. Us. Now. -- A Family's Fight to Bring Medical Innovation Home" will be shown.

Motor Werks of Barrington and MJ Miller & Co. are leading sponsors.

Proceeds will benefit The Hope4Bridget Foundation, named after Bridget Kennicott, who is fighting Batten disease, a rare, degenerative, neurological disorder that is always fatal, and the Two Hearts Rock/Global Genes "Be An Instrument of Hope" Campaign.

Tickets are $52 in advance and $60 at the door. More information is at hope4bridget.com or 2heartsrock.org, or contact Kerry Hughes, (847) 204-2336 or Kerry@2heartsrock.org, or Lori Butler, (847) 567-9599 or Lori@2heartsrock.org
