Geneva 48, Elgin 38: The Vikings (15-10, 9-2) inched closer to another Upstate Eight Conference River Division title behind 17 points from Sami Pawlak and 9 from Sidney Santos.

Geneva, which led 17-7 after one quarter and 39-17 at halftime, can clinch no worse than a share for the title by beating St. Charles North in its regular season finale on Saturday. The Vikings will win outright with a win in that game combined with a Batavia victory over Streamwood.
