Three arrested near Crystal Lake for sale of cannabis

Three men recently were arrested near Crystal Lake and charged by McHenry County Sheriff officials for the sale of cannabis., officials said Thursday.

Martin M. Dunn, 27, of the 7500 block of Hemlock Street in Crystal Lake; Joseph M. Munts, 26, of the 1000 block of Clay Street in Woodstock; and Angel De Jesus Marin, 26, of the 7500 block of Hemlock Street in Crystal Lake; were all charged with unlawful possession of cannabis by the McHenry County Sheriff, officials said in a news release Thursday.

Officials said McHenry County Sheriff's deputies conducted an investigation into the sale of cannabis near the Crystal Lake area and, on Jan. 18, officers conducted a search warrant in the home where Dunn and Marin lived on the 7500 block of Hemlock Street.

During the search, the three were arrested as deputies seized about 1,710 grams of cannabis, 2 ecstasy pills, 2 cannabis sativa plants, a digital scale, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, and about $4,000 in cash.

The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is about $17,000, officials said.

In addition to the charge of unlawful possession, Dunn was also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants.

Munts was also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants.
