DIXON — Authorities in northern Illinois say they're almost finished liquidating the assets of former Dixon Comptroller Rita Crundwell.

Crundwell is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 14. She's pleaded guilty to federal charges that accuse her of stealing $53 million from the city of Dixon over the last two decades.

Jason Wojdylo (woh-DIHL'-oh) of the U.S. Marshals Service estimates Dixon will only recoup about a fifth of what was stolen.

Wojdylo tells WNIJ Radio that much of the money was used on "consumables," such as food, travel and personal care.

Counter-offers are still being accepted through Friday for Crundwell's home in Dixon.

The final sales include Crundwell's jewelry collection and a home in Florida, which are scheduled for next month.
