Police seek ‘armed and dangerous’ Mount Prospect man

By

Authorities are searching for a Mount Prospect man they consider to be armed and dangerous.

Joseph L. Lopez Jr., 34, is suspected of severely beating a woman late Tuesday night inside a car in a parking lot in an unincorporated area near Palatine, Cook County sheriff’s police said in a release.

An arrest warrant for aggravated domestic violence was issued Thursday for Lopez, Sheriff Thomas Dart said.

Lopez has threatened to shoot police officers that come in contact with him and kill himself, the release said.

Detectives are seeking any information to assist in their search. Dart said the public should not approach Lopez, and he asked anyone with information on the Lopez’s whereabouts to call (708) 865-4896.
