Naperville woman charged after bar fracas with cop

A Naperville woman was charged with felony aggravated battery early Wednesday after she became combative with a police officer who tried to escort her from a bar, police said.

Darcie M. Ingerson, 22, of the 1900 block of Carlsbad Circle, also faces misdemeanor charges of resisting a peace officer and criminal trespass stemming from the alleged altercation at The Lantern, 8 W. Chicago Ave.

Police said they were called to the establishment about 12:30 a.m. for a report of a “highly intoxicated” woman who had been asked to leave several times. Ingerson kicked a responding officer in the leg and groin as she was being escorted to a waiting taxi, according to a news release.

Authorities described Ingerson as “violent and combative,” and said she continued to kick the officer after she was handcuffed at the scene.

Ingerson remained in the DuPage County jail this morning.
