About this Article

More than 100 students from across the Elgin area stayed productive on a day off from school in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. They started the day with a service project and followed it up with a youth leadership conference at The Centre of Elgin. Workshops covered bullying, relationships between law enforcement and youth, hunger and diversity appreciation.
