Fulfill your resolution of becoming a better photographer in 2013. Schaumburg Park District will offer two programs for ages 14 and older featuring photography this winter at Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane. George LeClaire, an award-winning photojournalist and technology expert, will teach the programs.

Budding photographers will learn how to use a digital camera from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6. The class will cover camera functions including white balance, programmable shooting modes, lighting, ISO, file format, quality control and one push button settings. No previous photography experience is required. Participants must bring a point and shoot or DSLR camera and user manual to class. The cost is $25 for residents and $37 for nonresidents.

Smartphone owners will learn how to take artistic photos using their phones from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays March 6 and 20. The class will cover exposure settings, brightness, white balance and mobile applications. The cost is $50 for residents and $70 for nonresidents.

Preregistration is required for each class. Registration is available at parkfun.com and district registration facilities.
