Vernon Hills police have identified a skimming device at the US Bank located at 175 N. Milwaukee Ave.
At 7:13 p.m. Wednesday, police said, the device was discovered by a bank customer attempting to use his debit card.
The skimming device looks identical to the card reader on the ATM at the bank and was attached with a sticky substance, police said.
At this time it is unknown if the device was storing the debit card numbers or if it was transmitting the debit card numbers to a nearby suspect with a computer.
The device appears to have been molded to match the card readers on ATMs at any US Bank.
Police are in the process of getting video of a possible suspect.
