Niles North tops Prospect; last-second bucket sinks Chargers

Niles North, runner-up in the recent Hardwood Classic at Wheeling, was too much for visiting Prospect in nonconference play Tuesday.

The Vikings (11-3) got a game-high 22 points from Lorenzo Dillard in a 82-57 victory over the Mid-Suburban East-leading Knights, who have dropped two straight.

Prospect (11-6) was led by 13 points from Mike Houghton.

Harvest Christian 49, Christian Liberty 48: Wesley Swiderek scored a game-high 20 points but the Chargers came up 1 point short against visiting Harvest Christian on Tuesday.

David Colbert was next in scoring for Christian Liberty with 9 points in the Northeastern Athletic Conference contest.

Matt Borst scored the decisive basket on a layup as time expired for Harvest Christian.

On a night dedicated to longtime area basketball referee Bill Spicer, more than $41,000 was raised toward his battle against leukemia.
