Quinn holds 1st summit on employment diversity

Gov. Pat Quinn is focusing on equal opportunity and diversity in hiring to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

Quinn held a meeting Tuesday at the University of Chicago with business leaders from across the state to address the issues. The governor’s office says it was the first annual Diversity and Inclusion Summit. Quinn says everyone should have the opportunity for employment, “regardless of race, gender or orientation.”

The summit included presentations from minority business leaders and companies like Oak Brook-based McDonalds Corp.
