Still no casino money for schools?

text size: AAA

In your featured article the other day, I saw that casinos in Illinois grossed over one billion, four hundred million dollars last year. How much of that $1,400,000,000.00 went to Illinois schools?

When I came to Illinois 47 years ago, the major argument for legalizing gambling was that the profits would finance our schools going forward. How is it that I have never heard a single elected official from that time or during the intervening 47 years raise the complaint that the government failed to keep its promise to the taxpayers of this state and attempt to fix this gross misrepresentation.

Is it any wonder that nobody trusts the leaders of this state? Reflect also on the four governors during that time who all ended up in prison. Sad.
