Bartlett library board candidate faces objection

By

An objection has been filed challenging the candidacy of Ed Novak for trustee of the Bartlett Public Library District.

Patricia Hanson, who is running for a seat on the Bartlett Fire Protection District board of trustees, filed the objection. She believes 14 of the 66 people who signed Novak’s petition to be on the ballot are not residents of the library district.

Hanson said she also had concerns with the wording Novak used to describe the position he is seeking, as it could be confused with him running to be a trustee for the village instead of the library district.

Novak could not be reached for comment Monday. The results of a hearing on the challenge held on Friday, Jan. 11 by the DuPage Election Commission will be available Wednesday.
