The Lake County Sheriff's Office on Friday announced it has gone live on Facebook. On Friday, a Criminal Investigation Division photo album asking for tips identifying subjects of interest for several burglaries in Lake County was posted. Social media will also be used to provide notification of road closures, significant police activity, and assistance in solving crimes. Social media has become a resource for law enforcement and is regarded as an efficient way to provide county residents with up-to-date information, according to the sheriff's office. The sheriff's office also utilizes Twitter and the government website, which will be revamped within the next few months.
