The Lake County public works department has scheduled a public open house on the drinking water supply for the Grandwood Park water system from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the Grandwood Park Park District community center, 36630 N. Hutchins Road, Gurnee. The area includes the subdivisions of Brookside, Bridlewood, Grandwood Park, Deerpath, Mill Creek Crossing, Shires of Cambridge, Cedar Ridge, Hutchins Woods and Stratton Oaks. Residents can learn more about the current drinking water supply system and the county's efforts to secure a permanent, long-term solution to drinking water needs. Public works staff and groundwater specialists will be available to provide information on the project and to answer questions. Visit www.lakecountyil.gov/lakemichiganwater.
