Fire releases its MLS regular-season schedule

After returning to the playoffs in 2012, Chicago Fire will embark on its 16th season of Major League Soccer action with 16 of its 34 games to air on national television.

The Fire, in conjunction with MLS and its broadcast partners, released its 2013 regular-season schedule on Wednesday, and its season begins with a visit to two-time defending MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy on March 3. The club will host Opening Day at Toyota Park when it welcomes the New England Revolution on March 9.

As part of its 34-game schedule, the Fire will appear on the following national networks: NBC Sports Network (eight games), ESPN (one game), ESPN2 (one game), Univision (one game) and UniMas (five games). The club will release its 2013 regional television schedule at a later date.
