Lisle travels for victory at Wilmington

Lisle’s boys basketball team visited Wilmington on Friday and defeated the host Wildcats 63-39 in the Interstate Eight Conference.

Lisle (9-7, 5-0) posted a 22-11 lead after a quarter and outscored Wilmington 30-12 in the second half, allowing Lions coach Mark LaScala to empty his bench.

Point guard Cody Monson led Lisle with 19 points. Matt Bucher got a start and responded with 12 points while Jeremy Glavanovits added 10 points. Held nearly 8 points under his average by Dawon Burrell, Dan O’Leary scored 14 points to lead Wilmington (9-7, 3-2).

Lisle plays Immaculate Conception in a nonconference game on Jan. 9, but Friday’s win sets up an important Interstate Eight game Jan. 11 at Seneca. On Friday Seneca beat Manteno to also improve to 5-0 in league play, tied with the Lions.
