The basketball and volleyball courts in Century Park North, north of Route 60 and west of Lakeview Parkway in Vernon Hills, have been transformed into an ice rink that will open Saturday, Jan. 5 and will be lighted until 9 p.m. daily. The pavilion's restrooms are open daily and the warming shelter will be open from 1 to 9 p.m. weekends when either the ice rink or sled hill is open. The pavilion will be staffed on weekends offering free loaner ice skates. Concessions will also be available for purchase. Call the district's weather hotline (847) 996-6616 for the most up-to-date skating conditions. The ice rink and sled hill are at 1401 Indianwood Drive.
