Chicago Bears fans are nervous this weekend, and with good reason: the Detroit Lions are laying in wait to end the Bearsí season.
Iím hoping that wonít be the case.
By the way, I have no problem rooting for the Green Bay Packers to beat the Minnesota Vikings. The problem is we really shouldnít be in this jam. This game is not only huge for the Chicago Bears, but also for certain members of the team.
If they lose, the blame will go somewhat in this order: Lovie Smith, Jay Cutler, Mike Tice and then the defense.
If they win, then the team will have won 10 games and make the playoffs ó provided, of course, that Green Bay beats Minnesota. If that happens, then all of the people I named should be safe.
Iíve watched Detroit all year and there is nothing Iíve seen that suggests they should beat the Bears. Itís time for Cutler to play the game of his life against an inferior opponent. If he canít get it done, he will be what we have always thought he was ó a tier B quarterback.
If the Bears win, maybe he starts to mature and gets hot in the playoffs.
Either way, this game is about Cutler and no one else. Letís have a game for the ages, Jay. A lot can be erased with a great game on Sunday!
Jordan should hire Krause:
When Michael Jordan was playing for the Bulls and winning championships, he used to belittle general manager Jerry Krause. He called him names and was highly offended when Krause said, ďPlayers donít win championships, organizations do.Ē
Well, Michael Jordan may go down in history as the greatest basketball player who ever lived, but also as the worst owner/executive that ever ran an NBA club.
After the Charlotte Bobcats got off to a fast start, MJ had to be feeling good. But since the 7-5 start, the Jordannaires have lost 16 straight.
Here is my advice to MJ: You donít have what it takes, so hire Krause!
You wonít, though, because you would have to admit you were wrong.
Just think about the players Krause brought to the Bulls ó from Scottie Pippen to Dennis Rodman and all those guys in between.
As great as a player you were MJ, you arenít even close to Jerry Krause as a GM. So swallow your pride, bring in Krause, and when you do an apology would be nice.
Iím sure Krause will accept and then he can teach you some of his tricks, because it doesnít seem like you, my friend, have anything up your sleeve.
Last week I went 1-1 to bring my season record to 15-15-1. This week, Iíll take Washington (-3) over Dallas.
After starting the day with Mancow on his show Ch. 50 (WPWR) show at 6 a.m. today, Iíll be sitting in on Fox Sports radio from 2-6 p.m. today, and again Monday afternoon in the same time slot. You can listen on XM 169, iHeart radio, or foxsportsradio.com
