Problem is the removal of God

We’re all reeling with shock and sadness at the loss of life in Sandy Hook. Some people seem to believe that guns are the problem. Greatly limit the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution and the problem will be solved.

Concealed handgun carry, for example: Murder rates have declined in states that allow concealed carry. That’s because it isn’t just the bad guys who have the guns there. To value supposed safety over freedom carries a high price, even when that safety involves our children.

The problem isn’t guns or even man-made laws or the lack of them. The problem is the systematic removal of God (except as an exclamation!) from public life beginning in the early ’60s with the removal of the Lord’s Prayer from the schools, to the outlawing of Nativity scenes at Christmas, to the effort to remove the phrase “one nation under God” from our Pledge of Allegiance, to the outlawing of teaching creationism (much easier to believe than evolution), to suing to remove crosses which have stood in place for decades.

The other aspect of this is the use of God’s name and the name of Jesus on TV, movies, radio, the Internet, as a way of swearing. We won’t remove pornography, even child porn, from cyberspace saying that it may be virtual, not the real exploitation of children. Sex trafficking, the occult, greed and dishonesty. In short, as a nation, we have turned our backs on God. Things are only going to get worse unless we repent, turning to Him in humility, asking him to heal our land.

Don’t outlaw God; return to God and to his son, Jesus, whose birth we celebrate, though with heavy hearts, this Christmas.
