Cary-Grove 46, Tilden 42: Dan Lee scored 14 points, Jason Gregiore added 12 and Matt Motzel had 11 to lead Cary-Grove (7-3) to a win in the opening round of the Jacobs Holiday Tournament.
CL South 70, Johnsburg 60: The Gators erased a 1-point deficit after three quarters by putting up a 24-spot in the fourth quarter in this opening round game at Jacobs. Nick Geske struck for 28 points to lead Crystal Lake South (3-5), while Austin Rogers added 21 and Max Meitzler had 16.
Newark 61, Burlington Central 49: Down just 30-28 at halftime, the Rockets couldn’t sustain things in the second half and had their 3-game winning streak snapped at the Plano Holiday Tournament. Moter Deng had 13 points and Ryan Ritchie added 10 for Central (3-8).
