Craft Illinois’ gun laws carefully
The state of Illinois has 180 days to craft legislation and make it law that only those who qualify can own and carry a fully loaded, 16-shot automatic firearm. We can only hope that our attorney general and her framers will review those existing concealed carry state laws that have been court and NRA tested.
Meanwhile, for those families everywhere who have lost loved ones to gunfire, we must finally come together and say, “Enough of the violence!”
Let’s rethink and retool when drafting this new state statute during these critical times of uncertainty. We are not just another Third World country. This is the United States of America. Focus!
