Chicago Fire opens season vs. MLS champs

The Chicago Fire will begin its 16th season on the road against two-time defending MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy on March 3, 2013, then return to host the New England Revolution for Opening Day at Toyota Park on March 9, club officials announced Tuesday.

The Fire, which finished with a 17-11-6 record in 2012, will also hit the road to play Sporting Kansas City on March 16 to round out the first three matches of the club’s 2013 Major League Soccer campaign. Season tickets and holiday gift packs are available at 1-888-MLS-FIRE, via Ticketmaster or at www.Chicago-Fire.com.

Times, broadcast details and additional information for the Fire’s 34-game schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
