Police looking for men in Naperville battery

Naperville Police are looking for two men in connection to a battery early Sunday morning, officials said.

Police responded to 200 W. Jefferson St. near downtown Naperville at 12:22 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release.

A male victim told police that he was sitting underneath the pedestrian bridge near the Riverwalk Eatery when he was approached by two men he didn't know, according to the release.

The men tried to take the victim's hat off of his head and a struggle ensued during which the victim received two cuts from an unknown weapon.

The men ran away and have not been located.

Police said one of the subjects was a black male, 5 feet 11 inches with a medium build wearing a "do rag." The other was reportedly a black or Hispanic male, around the same height and build, wearing a dark hoodie.

Anyone having witnessed this incident or having information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Naperville Police Department at (630) 420-6666.
