Meadows swims to second at Leyden

Rolling Meadows’ Ryan Smith had the top finish in the 100-yard backstroke to help Rolling Meadows to a second-place finish in the seven-team Leyden Invitational in boys swimming on Saturday.

Plainfield co-op won with 283 points, ahead of Meadows (186), West Chicago (174), Maine East (173) and Leyden (160).

Jake Barson placed second in the 100 breast (1:04.63) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:18.4), and the Mustangs’ medley relay of Smith, Barson, Anthony Sarussi and Kuba Debkowski took third in 1:52.64.
