About this Article

There was never any doubt where Jeremy Roenick stood on a topic. He was both bold and brash when he came to the Blackhawks in 1989, and when was traded in a contract dispute in 1996. In his new book, "J.R., My Life as the Most Outspoken, Fearless and Hard-Hitting Man in Hockey," Roenick talks about the hard-hitting style he perfected under coach Mike Smith. Tim Sassone has more on the book and his interview with Roenick at Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville.
