An open house with Santa is set for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 at the Cuneo Mansion, 1350 N. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hill. Cost is $5 per person, children under 3 are free. Festivities include a self-guided tour of the Italianate-style mansion, craft station and coloring contest for children in the pavilion, make-a-wreath contest, Santa Claus in the Great Hall, a raffle drawing, cookies and hot chocolate, beer and wine for purchase, and the holiday light show upon entering and exiting the mansion. This year, Cuneo Mansion & Gardens will accept unwrapped gifts on behalf of Toys for Tots and canned goods for the Vernon Hills and Libertyville Township food pantries.
