Wheeling Hardwood Classic brackets released
First-round matchups for Wheeling’s Hardwood Classic have been released, and the four-day stretch of Wednesday, Dec. 26 through Saturday, Dec. 29, will be loaded with action.
The tournament features three teams featured in the Daily Herald’s most recent ranking of the top 20 area teams — St. Viator, Fremd and Prospect.
First-round matchups on Dec. 26 are:
Fremd vs. Maine West, 9 a.m.
St. Viator vs. Libertyville, 10:30 a.m.
Loyola vs. Wheeling, 12:15 p.m.
Niles North vs. Vernon Hills, 2 p.m.
Prospect vs. Deerfield, 3:45 p.m.
Naperville Central vs. Streamwood, 5:30 p.m.
Notre Dame vs. Alcott, 7:15 p.m.
Lake Park vs. Carmel, 8:45 p.m.
Admission to games is $5, with a four-day pass option for $16.
