Northwest suburban police blotter

Barrington police and the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group arrested four people on drug charges after receiving a tip that the offenders were doing drugs, Barrington Chief Jerry Libit said.

Officers forced open a door on the 500 block of Shorely Drive around 8:45 p.m. Nov. 20, and arrested Steven R. Keuth, 32, Matthew J. Magnanenzi, 29, and Andrew B. Watt, 26, all residents of the Shorely Drive apartment, and Earl T. Blankenship, 26, of 3702 Eastway Drive in Island Lake.

Keuth was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (two prescription narcotics), felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and misdemeanor counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana, and unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Watt, Blankenship and Magnanenzi were charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

After Barrington officers heard that the offenders were dealing drugs, they contacted the Lake County MEG and that agency obtained a search warrant, Libbit said.

Watt, Magnanenzi and Blankenship are scheduled in court Dec. 20; Keuth scheduled date is Jan. 10.

Charges are not evidence of guilt. Under law, individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
